In order to receive the Ph.D. degree, graduate students in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology must pass a set of core courses, perform laboratory rotations, attend all CDB seminars, attend journal clubs, pass a qualifying examination, and write and defend a thesis. Generally, students are expected to enroll in 12-16 credit-hours per quarter (including summer quarter).
