Graduate studies require a balance between
class work and research experience. In
addition to required core classes, students
have access to a wide range of elective classes.
After the first two years the balance tips
towards full time laboratory work and the
completion of research that leads to the Ph.D. dissertation.

Several students in the department participate in the NIH-funded, Developmental Biology Training Program.
