How to apply to the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology

Entry into CDB occurs through the Program in
Molecular and Cellular Biosciences (PMCB). Four basic
science departments (Cell & Developmental
Biology, Molecular Microbiology & Immunology,
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Molecular
& Medical Genetics) have joined together to
form the PMCB which offers students a large
number of possibilites in selecting a research
focus. Students take a core series of classes and
may select research rotations from more than 120
faculty members with research interests that
cover the full spectrum of modern molecular and
cellular biosciences. After the first year in the
PMCB, students choose a mentor and a
