Family Involvement Network (FIN)
Network: Families sharing information with other families and professionals.
Goal: Improved health care and services for children with disabilities and/or chronic conditions.
Benefits: Professionals and families work together as a team to improve the outcome for children with special health care needs.
FIN plays an important role in the fish's movement; they propel and guide the direction of the fish as well as providing stability. Without fins, the fish cannot move properly, and therefore will not be able to survive.
FIN promotes opportunities for families and professionals to learn, support and nurture each other as equal partners.
FIN provides:
- Education for medical and other professionals on the value of partnering with families
- Family leadership development
- Support for families engaged in a variety of program and health policy activities
- Family Liaisons
Oregon Family Voices (external link) - a resource for Oregon families.
