The mission of the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center at OHSU is to ensure that persons in Oregon with developmental disabilities and other chronic disabling conditions are identified and receive exemplary services through programs of public health, clinical service, education and research.
The CDRC uses a family-centered, interdisciplinary approach to care. CDRC specializes in diagnosis, assessment, and intervention related to disorders affecting development and disability across the lifespan. Additionally, as the OHSU University Center for Excellence in Disabilities, the CDRC is a member of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities, a network of 67 universities throughout the United States and Territories. Centers facilitate the flow of disability-related information between community and university, and work with people with disabilities and partners to provide training, technical assistance, service, research, and information sharing. UCEDDs have played key roles in every major disability initiative over the past four decades.
We are seeking a well-rounded dynamic leader who is creative and has the vision, problem-solving skills, interest and experience in interdisciplinary collaboration to serve as Principal Investigator for the UCEDD Core Grant from the Administration on Developmental Disabilities (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services), and to function as Associate Director of the CDRC. The associate director will direct the UCEDD in the furtherance of our mission and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service, and will represent CDRC at the Association of University Centers of Disabilities.
Responsibilities are divided into 5 categories:
- Administrative Scholarship/research (promotion of research and administrative support)
- Education and training (in collaboration with our LEND project and other academic pursuits)
- Community relations and dissemination
- Externally-funded portfolio in area of applicant's expertise
This is a senior leadership position within the UCEDD.
The following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Demonstrated expertise in disability or chronic health conditions
- Knowledge of UCEDD issues and federal disability policies
- Demonstrated success in an academic role
- Demonstrated expertise in leadership and program management
- Experience in promoting diversity
Position Requirements:
- PhD, MD, or appropriate terminal degree
- Eligibility for associate professor or professor appointment
- At least 3 years administrative experience
- Grant writing and budget management skills
