I was born and raised by a couple of nerds in Eugene, Ore. They encouraged me to like everything, and as such, I thought I would never be able to pick just one career.
I grew up around medicine, and felt pulled to it, but never knew how I would fit into its landscape until I began working with PAs in the emergency room. They seemed to embody my three long-term goals: to be happy, to be useful and to be connected.
Before matriculation to the OHSU Physician Assistant Program, I spent several months living in Montevideo, Uruguay, enjoying one of my favorite pastimes: long distance urban walking. In a crowded room, I will turn my head if I hear any of the following words: poetry, podcasts, primates or Prince.
Going forward, I have a particular interest in evolutionary medicine, etymology, medical history, intuitive biostatistics, and health care for incarcerated populations.
