Marisa Gholson, PAS1

Marisa Gholson was raised in Hillsboro, Ore. and completed her undergraduate studies at University of Portland, majoring in Psychology and Spanish. She worked for three years as a research assistant at OHSU studying substance abuse policy and coordinating clinical trials before an interest in clinical medicine led her to take a position as a medical scribe at the OHSU Center for Women’s Health. It was there that she developed a strong interest in women’s health and family planning and hopes to eventually return to that area of healthcare. Marisa is incredibly excited to be a member of the OHSU Physician Assistant Program (class of 2016!) and is looking forward to the next 2 years!

  1. Hi Marisa!

I am applying to PA schools this cycle, and I have been working in Women’s Health as a Medical Assistant, and would like to continue working in that field after becoming a PA. I am interested in OHSU, and was wondering if you could give me some insight into the program and student life. Thank you!

  2. Hi Marisa!
I’m interested in the PA Program and I was looking into the University of Portland to start my undergrad. Does UP have a good program to prepare me to get into a PA program? What was your experience like? Thank you!
