Jim Harris

Jim Harris is a nursing student in the accelerated bachelor program at OHSU.  His dream of becoming a nurse started several years ago following a great deal of deliberation as to where his career was leading him.  As a successful professional civil engineer, husband, and father to five, life (while crazy) was at least stable.  In short, after many hours behind a desk in the engineering field, he discovered his true passion lay in working directly with and helping people.  This led to a crazy sequence of events that resulted in him hanging up his engineering hat for a set of green scrubs.

Jim lives south of Portland and enjoys outings with the family to the local parks, zoo, beach, or kid-friendly hiking trails.  In the sweet quiet evening hours when all the kids are sleeping (and he is not studying), he seeks solace spending time with his wife.
