Growing up in the mountains of Park City, Utah, I developed life-long hobbies of skiing, mountain biking and fly-fishing. After graduating with a B.S. in nutrition from California Polytechnic State University, I moved to the rural town of Telluride, Colorado, where I worked as a community health worker. It was there that I discovered the fulfillment of helping improve the lives of my community. After seeing the need for registered dietitians in remote corners of the western United States, I enrolled at OHSU for the Dietetic Internship class of 2018. Within the next year I will be completing 1,200 supervised practice hours, 32 graduate school credits and will become eligible to sit for the Registration Examination for Dietitians. I hope to share my experiences with you as I go from sensory testing at Oregon State University Food Innovations Center to formulating parenteral nutrition prescriptions with clinical dietitians at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and many places in-between.
