Methamphetamine Abuse Research Center pilot projects due April 7

OHSU’s Methamphetamine Abuse Research Center (MARC) seeks applications for pilot project research grants. These grants, of up to $25,000, are designed to bring new research directions, approaches, and investigators into the center. Projects are also intended to generate preliminary data for future R-type grant applications. All OHSU and VA faculty interested in methamphetamine research are encouraged to submit proposals. Single IRB Review for studies conducted at both OHSU and the VA!

Until now, researchers conducting research that engages both OHSU and the VA in human subjects research had to obtain separate IRB approvals from OHSU and the VA. Because of the difference between the boards and the two different management systems (electronic vs. paper-based) the approval process was burdensome.
