Updated Monday, Jan. 22 at 5 p.m.: The Senate and House have passed a continuing resolution to fund the government through Feb. 8. The shutdown will end once it is signed by President Trump with government offices expected to open on Tuesday. NIH under continuing resolution: What does it mean to you?

The NIH released a notice on December 19 indicating that all Department of Health and Human Services agencies will be acting under a continuing resolution through Jan. 19, 2018. (Note that Congress extended funding after the NIH notice was released.) This means that until at least mid-January, grants will be funded up to 90% of the previously committed level. Updated October 1: The NIH has issued new guidance about procedures during the government shutdown, advising applicants not to submit grants to grants.gov during the shutdown and that they will adjust application deadlines after the government reopens for business.
