Grants.gov outage Oct 15

Grants.gov has experienced a hardware failure during the night that has resulted in the entire system being down. As a result, you will be unable to submit applications to Grants.gov using InfoEd or Adobe today. This outage will also impact the XML checker in InfoEd. InfoEd available for Grants.gov submissions

InfoEd has been upgraded to version 12.802.02, which means you can now use Proposal Development for your Grants.gov submissions. If you have already started an application using Adobe, you do not need to move everything into InfoEd, but please use InfoEd for your next application. NIH clarifies requirements for vertebrate animal research applications

Earlier today, NIH issued a notice (NOT-OD-10-128) to explain how the Vertebrate Animal Section (VAS) of a proposal can affect its overall impact score. Specifically, the notice states: “If the VAS is missing, the application may be deferred. NIH, AHRQ, and NIOSH to eliminate error correction window January 25, 2011

The error correction window will be eliminated for all NIH, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) grants with deadlines on or after January 25, 2011, according to a notice  released on Thursday (NOT-OD-10-123).  Applicants will no longer have a grace period after the deadline passes to make changes to your proposal if the system rejects the application. Help Decoding Your NIH Summary Statements

Starting in the fall, NIH summary statements will now include a paragraph from the reviewer explaining the factors that informed the overall impact score. NIH Returns to Two-day Error Correction Window

On May 8, 2010, the NIH, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will return to the standard two-day error correction window for both electronic and paper grant applications.
