We’ve received word from Research Grants & Contracts that OHSU researchers still must use InfoEd to submit their grant applications and shouldn’t be downloading the new forms from grants.gov. Now that it’s late May, we finally have some knowledge about the funding levels for NIH grants for FY2011. The bad news is that grant budgets are being reduced for this current year. Beginning with the upcoming May 25 application deadline, NIH biosketch instructions will be modified to enable investigators to describe personal circumstances that may have reduced productivity or impacted transition to research independence, such as family care responsibilities, illness, disability, military service and other personal issues.
