Applications for the 2013-2014 Presidential Bridge Funding program will be due May 17, 2013. Bridge funding is available for independent established investigators at OHSU threatened by an imminent lapse in research support. Investigators can request up to $50,000 in funding for one year to help bridge them while they generate data to restore funding. Up to 10 awards will be made this funding cycle. Knight Cancer Institute Pilot Project funding, pre-proposals due March 29

The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute is now accepting applications for Pilot Project funding. The purpose of these $50,000 awards is to cultivate outstanding translational cancer research by assisting in the generation of preliminary data leading to peer-reviewed, national funding. OCTRI Catalyst Awards, letters of intent due April 22

The Oregon Clinical & Translational Research Institute (OCTRI) is now accepting letters of intent for its Catalyst Awards, which facilitate novel, collaborative, multidisciplinary studies that will lead to further research and funding in translational research. This funding mechanism is offered in close collaboration with the School of Medicine Research Roadmap but is open to all OHSU faculty. Applications for Tartar Trust Fellowships, which provide up to $2,000 to students, postdocs, and faculty in the OHSU School of Medicine, are due April 19, 2013. Methamphetamine Abuse Research Center pilot projects, due April 1

OHSU’s Methamphetamine Abuse Research Center (MARC) seeks applications for pilot project research grants. These grants, of up to $30,000, are designed to bring new research directions, approaches, and investigators into the center. Projects are also intended to generate preliminary data for future R-type grant applications. All OHSU and VA faculty interested in methamphetamine research are encouraged to submit proposals. The Oregon Center for Aging and Technology (ORCATECH) is calling on OHSU investigators to submit research proposals for pilot projects (up to $50,000) to improve technology and translate that technology into useful tools to improve health and maintain independence in our aging population.
