eCRIS User Group Meeting, April 28

Study coordinators and clinical researchers are invited to the first quarterly eCRIS user group meeting on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 3 to 4 p.m. in CHH 3rd floor room 1A/B. Participants will hear about upcoming enhancements to eCRIS, be able to provide feedback, and learn different approaches to handling pre-award activities in eCRIS. Refreshments will be provided. Update: eCRIS Mandatory Use Moved to Thursday, Jan. 29

The date all new clinical studies enrolling prospectively consented human subjects are required to use OHSU’s electronic clinical research information system, eCRIS, has been moved to Jan. 29, 2014 from Jan. 14, 2014. What is eCRIS? eCRIS is OHSU’s new electronic Clinical Research Information System. It is used for management of clinical research studies and facilitates study set up and ongoing management, including budgeting, financial management and subject tracking. Is it mandatory? eCRIS: New Ongoing Study, Invoice and Payment functionality

OHSU’s electronic clinical research information system, eCRIS, has new functionality available. Look for the following features: Active studies with industry funding can generate invoices and display payment data from Oracle Grants Accounting (OGA). The Create Invoice button is available on the budget workspace for active studies. Invoices are created based on the information contained in the payment terms smartform. Gearing up for the eCRIS transition in 2014

In about two months, eCRIS, OHSU’s new clinical research management system, will be required for all new clinical studies enrolling prospectively consented human subjects. Later in 2014, eCRIS will become mandatory for existing studies as well. As of October, about 100 people have been trained on eCRIS and 60 new studies have voluntarily made the transition. eIRB Helpdesk eCRIS, OHSU’s electronic Clinical Research Information System, increases the efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy, and compliance of clinical research at OHSU. On July 22, OHSU launched a new, institution-wide computer application called eCRIS for the budgeting, financial management, contracting, and study management of clinical research studies.
