Nominations open for $3 million Breakthrough Prizes in Life Sciences

Nominations are being sought for the 2014 Breakthrough Prizes in Life Sciences, which are intended to award research aimed at curing intractable diseases and extending human life, with special attention to recent discoveries. Anyone may nominate a candidate, but all submissions must be completed by a third party. Nominations will be accepted through October 2, 2013.

Up to five prizes of $3 million each will be awarded. The prize is sponsored by Art Levinson, Sergey Brin, Anne Wojcicki, Mark Zuckerberg, Priscilla Chan and Yuri Milner.
