The Burroughs Wellcome Fund’s Career Awards at the Scientific Interface are designed to provide funding to bridge advanced postdoctoral training and the first three years of faculty service for researchers who have transitioned or are transitioning from undergraduate or graduate work in the physical/mathematical/computational sciences or engineering into postdoctoral work in the biological sciences, and who are dedicated to pursuing a career in academic research. This program provides up to $500,000 over five years.

Full application (by invitation only): January 9, 2014
To be eligible for this award, candidates must have completed at least 12 months but not more than 48 months of postdoctoral research by the date of the full invited application deadline. Must also hold a Ph.D. degree in mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, statistics, or engineering and be committed to a full-time career in research as an independent investigator at a North American degree-granting institution.
