RATE Classes in July: Effort Certification, Salary Cap

It’s that time of year again to prepare for Effort Certification! We’re offering the following Research Administration Training & Education (RATE) classes to help you navigate these requirements:

  • Tuesday, July 16 – Effort Certification: Gain a detailed understanding of why and how we maintain this important process at OHSU. Learn the ins and outs of coordinating the Effort Certification process through lecture, case studies and hands-on learning.
  • Tuesday, July 23 – Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) Salary Cap: History and regulations translated into practical applications, along with tools for applying more than one cap amount. To determine if the cap applies in your department, check the course description.
  • Tuesday, August 27 8 – Effort Certification & Salary Cap Refresher: Though effort gets attention throughout each period, the certification process comes around only two times per year. Refresh your knowledge, bring questions, tricky challenges, and any other concerns to this review and discussion.

Enroll in any of these courses through TrainingForce with your network login. More information on registration, times and locations can be found on the RATE Bridge. Feel free to contact Margaret Gardner with any questions.
