Vollum Career Development Workshop: Setting Up Your First Lab, March 5

Are you new to lab management? Maybe getting ready to start your first faculty position? The Vollum Career Development Workshop: “Managing a Research Laboratory / Setting Up Your First Lab” presented by Richard Goodman, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Vollum Institute, will discuss best practices you can apply to help make your lab a success. Dr. Goodman will give advice on dealing with Department Chairs, spending funds wisely, balancing your research time with committee commitments, and also talk about practices and bad habits you should try to avoid.

This event, which is part of the Vollum Career Development Series, is geared toward postdocs and grad students, but anyone is welcome.  We highly encourage you to attend this event in person–we are not recording these–but we will arrange for live streaming if you are on West Campus or are otherwise unable to attend in person. If you are interested in viewing as a live stream, please contact funding@ohsu.edu.
