The School of Medicine is sponsoring a unique, two-part workshop on The Art of Lecturing and Giving Presentations: 5 Easy Steps to Make You a More Effective Teacher. Ben Hoffman, M.D., associate professor in pediatrics will be facilitating.
Part 1 – Workshop: December 11, 2012 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Part 2 – Practice Sessions: December 18, 2012 from 3 to 5 p.m.
Location: School of Nursing room 107
Part I will be an interactive opportunity to discuss keys to improving your skills in preparing and delivering lectures and presentations. The following week, there will be a practice session (Part II) for up to 20 participants to apply what they have learned by delivering a 10-minute “Microteach” to a small group of peers and a faculty expert. Each small group will provide supportive and constructive feedback to each other, and the presentation will be recorded by video camera so that each participant can review their work in private.
If you plan to attend the “Microteach” session (Part II) please register now–space is limited to 20 participants and you must attend Part I. For more information, visit the School of Medicine Faculty Development web page.
