Reminder: Follow-up meeting on OHSU Transgenic Mouse Core, Nov. 5

The following is an invitation from David Dawson, Ph.D., chair of the Transgenic Mouse Core Oversight Committee, to attend a follow-up discussion about transgenic mouse models at OHSU on November 5 at 4 p.m. in the OHSU Auditorium. You are encouraged to attend whether you use or plan to use mice provided by the OHSU transgenic facility, or by other external suppliers.

Dear Colleagues,

We are in the process of finalizing a nearly year-long review of the Transgenic Mouse Core. In the course of the review we have learned a lot about the value of the core to OHSU investigators, but we have also been forced to confront the realities of supporting a core facility… Our first user meeting held on July 12 was very useful to the Core Oversight Committee in terms of understanding user perspectives, as well as estimating the amount of user support that might accrue going forward. For this reason we would like to invite you to a second user meeting in which the challenges facing the core will be discussed and users will have the opportunity to influence directly the outcome of the review. Dan Dorsa, Ph.D., vice president for research, as well as members of the Core Oversight Committee will be on hand to respond to questions.

David Dawson, Ph.D.
Chair, Transgenic Mouse Models Core Oversight Committee
Professor & Chair, Physiology & Pharmacology Department

If you cannot attend the meeting, but have questions or would like to offer feedback, email Andrew Chitty, program manager for University Shared Resources.
