Help spread the word about the impact of NIH-funded research
Did you know that for every $1 the NIH spends on research generates more than $2 in local economic growth? Or that in fiscal year 2011, NIH-funded research helped support more than 432,000 jobs across the U.S.?
If you attended Mary Woolley’s Research Week keynote back in May, you know how important it is to be an advocate for your work. The NIH has developed a nifty online toolkit full of facts and figures that you can use to describe the impacts of federally-funded research to non-scientific audiences. The site shows not only the health benefits of investing in the NIH, but the economic benefits, too.
Check out the Impact of NIH research site, and share widely.
