New prize available for excellence in translational research
The A. Alfred Taubman Medical Research Institute at the University of Michigan has established a $100,000 award for Excellence in Translational Medical Science. The new award recognizes work which transforms laboratory discoveries into clinical applications. Nominees will be judged based on the significance of his or her contribution to translational medicine and the manner in which the nominee’s clinical activities connect to his or her laboratory research. The prize is open to scientists worldwide and permits self-nomination. Nominations are due April 1, 2012.
