Virtual tour: OHSU’s Advanced Imaging Research Center
At the Advanced Imaging Research Center, OHSU researchers have access to some of the best magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology in the world. Researchers use these high-powered MRIs to study how the brain works, as well has how it deteriorates with age and disease. Listen to Bill Rooney, Ph.D., as he tells the history of OHSU’s Advanced Imaging Research Center. He’ll take you behind the scenes of OHSU’s 7-tesla MRI, which produces very high-resolution images of human tissue. You’ll also get a sneak peak at OHSU’s 12-tesla MRI—one of only two in the U.S.
