Translational cancer research fellowship, internal applications due Dec. 9
The Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI) is seeking applicants for its one-year Translational Cancer Research Fellowship. The award provides $50,000 in additional support for fellows who are engaged in any area of clinical or translational research related to cancer. The goal is to assist the trainee in becoming a high-caliber, productive independent researcher with an enduring focus on the importance of translational research relevant to cancer.
To be eligible, applicants must be in the first five years of a postdoctoral or clinical research fellowship at an AACI member academic, medical, or research institution (OHSU is a member). Applicants must be sponsored by a mentor from an AACI member cancer center; have completed at least one year of training in any oncology specialty and have at least one year of training remaining at an AACI member institution; show innovation with a potential for major scientific or clinical advancement; hold a professional degree of MD, PhD, PharmD, DO, or MD/PhD or foreign equivalency; and have not yet been appointed to a faculty position, including that of instructor.
If you are interested in applying, please submit your CV, a 1-5 page research summary, and a letter of support by Friday, December 9, 2011 using the limited submission form. The selected candidate will have until February 1, 2012 to submit his or her full application to AACI.
