Two great databases for finding funding
Whether you’re looking for an NIH R01 or seed funding from a private foundation, OHSU has multiple resources to help you find funding. Check out these two featured databases—including our latest addition, Scival Funding—or for more information visit the Funding Portal.
SciVal Funding
SciVal Funding is a powerful new database that makes it easier to find grants tailored to your research. With SciVal Funding you can:
- Search both federal and private foundation grants in one convenient location;
- Review previously awarded grants to analyze the current funding environment; and
- Set up customized alerts based on your publication history.
Got two minutes? View this short video to see how easy it is to find grants based on your publication history in SciVal Funding.
Looking for more comprehensive training materials? We’ve got those, too. We’re also more than happy to answer your questions or present a training to your department. Just email us at funding@ohsu.edu.
Foundation Directory Online
The OHSU Foundation and OHSU Library have invested in a great resource for investigators to find private foundation funding. Foundation Directory Online is a great resource that provides an unsurpassed level of comprehensive and accurate information on U.S. private foundations and grants they offer.
Some of you may have used this resource in the past with an OHSU login and password, but for ease of use there is no longer a password required. To login to the Foundation Directory Online, simply follow the link on the OHSU Library website and you will be logged into the service.
This guide will give you step by step instructions on beginning your funding search on the Foundation Directory Online. For questions about this resource, please contact Justine Burt at 503-412-6356.
