Registration for developmental origins of disease conference closes Aug 15
Monday, August 15 is your last chance to register for the 7th World Congress on Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD), a conference to be hosted by OHSU, September 18–21, 2011.
This international conference will feature researchers from OHSU and around the world, all of whom concentrate on discoveries related to developmental programming. Participants can expect to receive updates on traditional areas in the field and also to receive information on newly emerging areas, such as the role of development in innate immunity and gut microbiotics. A plenary session will focus on the unique and critical role of the placenta as the maternal-fetal interface, impacting all types of programming results and outcomes, and its emerging potential as an accessible and powerful biomarker of future disease.
Susan Bagby, MD, of OHSU’s Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, is the chair of the conference. Also on the organizing committee is Kent Thornburg, PhD, of OHSU’s Heart Research Center.
