High throughput genotyping and realtime PCR now available; seminar May 12

The Primate Center Molecular Core has purchased an Applied Biosystems OpenArray system that performs high throughput genotyping and qPCR. This system is optimal for when you have hundreds and thousands of samples on which you want to perform from 24 to 1000 qPCR or genotyping reactions on each sample. The systems is also ideal for predefined panels of gene quantification. Loading of samples is robotic so minimal sample preparation is involved and thousands of reactions can be performed per day. Depending on volume and assays conditions, prices start at around 20 cents per reaction.

There will be an introductory seminar at the Primate Center on May 12. Contact Eliot Spindel for more information.
