OHSU researchers: Preventing ovarian cancer while preserving fertility
Watch Jay Wright, Ph.D., scientist at the Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC), discuss a new treatment that has the potential to prevent ovarian cancer while preserving fertility for women who are at a high risk for the disease. Currently, the only way to prevent ovarian cancer in high-risk patients is to remove the ovaries, leading to a handful of unwanted side effects, including infertility.
