Avon Breast Cancer Research Program, internal applications due Jan 7
The Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Research Program accepts applications twice a year, in January and May, to address the growing number of breast cancer cases around the world. Specifically, the Foundation provides up to $300,000 over a two-year period for research in preventive strategies. The Foundation is especially interested in:
- The causes of breast cancer in women,
- Changes that lead to cancer,
- Markers of the diseas, and
- How breast cancer progresses.
Research proposals submitted to the Foundation must use human studies and are highly encouraged to use Avon’s Army of Women to find volunteers.
The Avon Foundation suggests that only one application be submitted per institution. If you are interested in applying, please submit your CV, a 1-5 page research summary, and a letter of support by Friday, January 7, 2011 using the limited submission form. The OHSU Foundation will provide strategic and editorial assistance to the selected nominee. The candidate will then have until January 21 to submit a letter of intent, and until March 11 to submit a full application.
