Department of Defense offers research instrumentation funding
The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has recently released a $50,000 to $1 million research instrumentation opportunity. The Defense University Research Instrumentation Program, also known as DURIP, is designed to aid U.S. universities to conduct research relevant to DoD’s mission areas, and to educate scientists in areas important to national defense (refer to the full announcement for more information about DoD funding priorities). Current DoD funding recipients are especially encouraged to apply, although the competition is open to anyone that meets the eligibility requirements.
The DURIP program is open to accredited U.S. institutions of higher education with degree granting programs in science, mathematics, or engineering. Please note that that is no limit to the number of applications submitted by an institution. Applications are due September 14, 2010.
