Last chance to apply for ARRA administrative supplements from NIAID

You still have a couple weeks to get in your application for an ARRA-funded administrative supplement from NIAID–April 16, 2010.  Check out the NIAID website for details. There is no limit on the amount you can request for an administrative supplement, unless it is for equipment (capped at $100,000) as long as you justify the budget and that you can spend it in the allotted one-year time period.

All active NIAID-funded domestic grants are eligible for supplemental funding using Recovery Act funds except training grants (T), fellowships (F), and construction grants. Other provisions apply, so please consult the NIAID website or program officer before applying.

Potential areas of interest include equipment purchases (costing under $100,000); enhancing the activities of clinical trials, including increasing enrollment and increasing the capacity for data analysis; providing additional funded time under K99/R00 and other awards; research employment opportunities for pre-doctoral students, including medical students in “off years” (e.g., medical, dental, veterinary, clinical psychology, nursing students) seeking extended time off for research experience or on shorter term breaks; research employment opportunities for postdoctoral students, including extending support for senior postdocs; research employment opportunities for recent college and master’s degree graduates; and comparative effectiveness research.

Summer Research Experiences for Students and Science Educators through NIAID are also still available. Check here for NIAID details.
