Eligibility: Scientists currently involved with basic “bench” research are eligible to apply, and collaborations between basic and clinical scientists are be highly encouraged.
The purpose of this funding mechanism is to help basic scientists overcome the various obstacles that might prevent them from pursuing human research. In addition to direct monetary support, funded research will be provided with enhanced research support services. The review panel will include qualified basic scientists and clinical researchers in order to adequately review the science and likelihood of successful translation to human studies.
