Five new ARRA opportunities released by the NIH

The NIH announced four new funding opportunities this week for various sorts of comparative effectiveness research ranging from clinical trails, and pilot studies, to methodology development, all issued under the RC4 mechanism. Additionally, there is an opportunity – NIH Director’s Opportunity for Research in Five Thematic Areas – that is NIH-wide, meaning all institutes and centers participate for research  on topics including, but not limited to applying genomics and other high throughput technologies and reinvigorating the biomedical research community. Applicants must address a specific disease- or technology-related question.

Specifically, the four comparative effectiveness research opportunities include:

Methodology Development in Comparative Effectiveness Research (RC4)

Comparative Effectiveness Research on Upper Endoscopy in Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Eradication Methods for Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and Dementia Detection and Management Strategies (RC4)

Behavioral Economics for Nudging the Implementation of Comparative Effectiveness Research: Clinical Trials (RC4)

Behavioral Economics for Nudging the Implementation of Comparative Effectiveness Research: Pilot Research (RC4)
