If your research is in the Hatfield Research Center, be prepared for a power shut-off on Saturday, November 14.
On Saturday November 14th, 2009, a malfunctioning high voltage automatic transfer switch that supplies the building’s normal power from PGE will be replaced.

Ø Hatfield Research Center: Electrical impact with loss of utility power to
general lighting in hallways, restrooms, break rooms and common areas; normal power (ivory) receptacles, 4th floor MRIs.
o HRC will be without normal power (ivory receptacles and general lighting for the entire duration of shutdown) for approximately 7 hours affecting floors 1-15.
o In HRC emergency generators will supply power for: egress lighting, red receptacles, additional lighting, elevators, and select equipment.
o Temporary lighting and extension cords will be provided as required.
The electrical impacts will cause computers and equipment to cycle power and reboot.
You should power down sensitive equipment before the shutdown begins and keep it off until the shutdown has completed.
