NIH and other federal officers from the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) programs–hosted by Congressman David Wu–will be at OHSU to hold a one-day conference on how to successfully apply for STTR and SBIR grants.   Presenters from the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and others will have a panel discussion and breakout sessions on how to develop a successful application. Topics include:

  • Agency priorities for research topics
  • Criteria for selecting awardees
  • How to make proposals more competitive

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet in small groups with program managers, past and current SBIR grantees, and prospective applicants. See a full agenda here.

If you plan to attend, RSVP to Kelly Brooks at kelly.brooks@mail.house.gov or 503-326-2901 by August 8th.

Lunch: If you plan to attend the panel discussion over the lunch hour, you can place an order for a box lunch from the Marquam Hill Catering menu. Email kelly.brooks@mail.house.gov with the details of your order.  I will then reply with an email invoice.  Payment for lunch orders must be received by August 9th.

Breakout Sessions: Program from NIH, NIAID, DARPA, DOE, and TIP will be holding breakout sessions in the afternoon.   Please reply to kelly.brooks@mail.house.gov with the two agencies that you are most interested in meeting with.  This information will help us decide how best to group agencies and what size rooms we will need for each session.
