NIH notice regarding human stem cell research
In light of President Obama’s efforts to remove barriers to responsible human stem cell research, the NIH issued a notice to let investigators know what to do in the meantime, as the NIH finalizes their guidelines concerning scientifically responsible human stem cell research.
The gist of the notice stipulates that if your research is ongoing, pending review, or not yet submitted, you can propose to conduct human stem cell research, but review and funding decisions will not be made until the final guidelines are in place. The NIH did not say when they expected those guidelines to be finalized.
