OHSU bike program wins BTA award

Portland’s Bicycle Transportation Alliance has named OHSU’s bike program as one of its 2012 Alice Award winners. The BTA gives the awards annually for people and projects that demonstrate “outstanding achievements and dedication to building the future Oregon where bicycling is safe, convenient and fun.” OHSU’s bike program has mushroomed in recent years, led by John Landolfe and Brett Dodson of the Parking and Transportation Department. Portland’s South Waterfront Continues to Take Shape

While working with a reporter on a media story today at OHSU’s Center for Health and Healing, I got a good overview of the many construction projects in Portland’s South Waterfront district. Given the fact that OHSU sits on hill 500 feet above the city, you might assume few folks prefer to bike to work. Not so fast!
