OHSU’s Diversity Efforts are Recognized
Some great news at OHSU today.
Our efforts to be a diverse institution are getting some notice. The university has been recognized as a “Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality” for the second year in a row. OHSU is listed in the Healthcare Equality Index 2012 report, an annual survey conducted by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation that was released earlier today.
An excerpt from OHSU’s press release here:
OHSU is one of 71 respondents that earned top marks for its commitment to equitable, inclusive care for LGBT patients and their families, who can face challenges in accessing adequate health care.
“OHSU is proud to be named a leader in healthcare equality,” said Norwood Knight-Richardson, M.D., M.B.A., vice president and chief administrative officer at OHSU. “This university values diversity in all of our missions and we are constantly seeking to be an inclusive organization.”
