Thank Goodness…for Road Work?!

At times, last summer’s construction on Sam Jackson Park Road was a bit of a headache. However, given this week’s weather (see video below) …thank goodness for road work.

As you may recall, the road was closed for several weeks so that a new retaining wall could be constructed. Prior to the work, Sam Jackson was cracked in places and needed to be shored up before the winter rains.

Here’s a before middle, and after construction comparison of the road.

The headaches seem well worth it now.

Disclosure: Sam Jackson was closed for a short time on 1.19.2012 due to some water on the road but that was unrelated to this past summer’s work.
