OHSU docs with MS set for June 18 Mud Run Portland

Two OHSU physicians know first-hand the travails of multiple sclerosis: they’ve been diagnosed with the disease.

But Elizabeth Steiner and Fran Biagioli have always tackled MS head on. And they’re doing it this month, as they’re getting set to participate in the MS Mud Run Portland on June 18. The event is a fundraiser for the National MS Society.

Participants in the event will try to complete a 10-kilometer obstacle course that will have them climbing over walls, under ropes, and often through the mud. They’re also raising money by gathering pledges for their participation in the event.

Steiner and Biagioli have joined forces and established an MS Mud Run team, and so far have raised more money than any other team — more than $13,000.

Steiner and Biagioli also participated in a May 25 MS Society event that promoted the upcoming Mud Run. And to get into the muddy spirit, they participated with a bath tub full of mud. Check out the video below.
