On September 1,
Dr. Masayoshi Uchida joined the department as a
Postdoctoral Fellow in the Research Division. He
relocated from Japan where he served as Director of
Anesthesia at Chubu Rosai Hospital and as Clinical
Instructor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at
Gifu University Graduate School of Medicine.
Dr. Uchida is
currently studying stroke using a middle cerebral
artery occlusion model in mice. His previous
research interests focused on how cerebral
microcirculation was affected during and after
infrarenal aortic cross-clamping in rabbits.
In 1996, Dr.
Uchida earned the M.D. from Fukui Medical School and
subsequently completed combined residencies in
Anesthesia and Internal Medicine at Chubu Rosai
Hospital. He then pursued postgraduate studies in
Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Gifu
University Graduate School of Medicine from which he
was awarded the Ph.D. in Medical Science in 2003.
For recreation
and relaxation, Dr. Uchida enjoys sailing, snow
skiing, and fitness training. |
