In August 2008, Dr. Kosaka
joined our research team as a postdoctoral fellow.
He and his family relocated from Kitasato University
School of Medicine in Kanagawa, Japan where he is an
anesthesiologist and an instructor in
anesthesiology.
In our laboratories, Dr. Kosaka
will investigate 1) mechanisms of neuronal injury
and protection following stroke or cardiac arrest
and 2) the protection of brain and other organs
during CPR following global ischemia. He is also
interested in angiogenesis, the effect of magnesium
on arrhythmia during anesthesia, and difficult
airway management.
Dr. Kosaka completed his
medical training and a residency in anesthesiology
at Kitasato University School of Medicine. He is
currently completing doctoral studies at the
Kitasato University Graduate School of Medical
Sciences.
When he takes a break from his
work, Dr. Kosaka enjoys snow skiing, baseball, and
shopping in Portland with his wife and two
daughters. |
