In 2003, Dr. Jian Cheng joined the Department of
Anesthesiology and Peri-Operative Medicine at Oregon
Health & Science University as a Postdoctoral Fellow
in the Research Division. He is currently studying
experimental stroke in animal models and the
molecular mechanisms that underlie brain ischemic
injuries.
Dr. Cheng graduated from Yangzhou University in
China in 2001 and completed a postdoctoral
fellowship at Nanjing University in 2003. Before
coming to OHSU, he spent several years investigating
the molecular epidemiology of the Avian Influenza
Virus and the potential for a genetically engineered
vaccine against bird flu.
