Dr. Mingyue Liu, M.D., Ph.D.,
joined the Department of Anesthesiology and
Peri-Operative Medicine as an Assistant Professor in
January 2005, after completing a postdoctoral
fellowship in the department. She is currently
investigating molecular mechanisms of brain injury
and sex differences by using cellular and molecular
biological approaches, and is funded by the American
Heart Association to study sex differences in
astrocyte cell death.
In
1989, Dr. Liu received her medical degree from the
Tianjin Medical University in China. After
finishing a residency in Internal Medicine and a
fellowship in Gastroenterology, she served as an
instructor and an internist for several years prior
to earning her Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the Hokkaido
University School of Medicine in Japan in 2001. Dr.
Liu completed postdoctoral fellowships in the
Department of Pharmacology at Hokkaido University
and the Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care
Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of
Medicine. |
