Kathy Parker is a Senior Research Assistant in the
Department of Anesthesiology and Peri-Operative
Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University. She
serves as the study coordinator for the Neurotherapy
of Fibromyalgia research study funded by the
National Institutes of Health National Center for
Complementary and Alternative Medicine. She has
been responsible for recruitment and screening of
study subjects as well as for periodic
post-treatment assessments and data management.
Kathy graduated from Lewis and Clark College in 1971
and completed a combined basic
nursing/nurse-midwifery/master’s program at Yale
School of Nursing in 1978. She worked at OHSU as a
certified nurse-midwife from 1978-1981. Prior to
returning to OHSU in 2004, Kathy was the exam editor
for the ACNM Certification Council, the national
certifying body for nurse-midwives.
