Dr. Mark H. Zornow is a Professor of Anesthesiology
and Peri-Operative Medicine at Oregon Health &
Science University (OHSU). He serves as the Medical
Director for the Outpatient Surgery Division which
encompasses the North ORs and the Casey Eye
Institute at OHSU.
Dr. Zornow has been Principal Investigator (PI) on
research funded by the National Institutes of Health
and has published extensively on the role of
excitatory neurotransmitters as mediators of
ischemic brain injury. He is currently the PI on an
industry‑funded clinical trial of a novel reversal
agent for neuromuscular blockade.
Dr. Zornow received the M.D. from the University of
Florida and completed a residency in anesthesiology
at Stanford University. He continued his studies
for one year as a Neuroanesthesia Fellow under the
direction of Dr. Michael Todd at the University of
California at San Diego.
