In 1999, Dr. Horn joined the
faculty at Oregon Health & Science University as
Associate Professor in the Department of
Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. He was
appointed Director of Regional Anesthesia in 2003
and promoted to Full Professor in 2007. His clinical
and research special interests include: techniques
and outcome of regional anesthesia, acute pain
management, pharmacology of local anesthetics, and
mechanisms of anesthesia.
Dr. Horn earned his medical
degree and completed an anesthesiology residency at
the Université Catholique de Louvain in Brussels,
Belgium. Between 1990 and 1996, he studied at
Vanderbilt University Medical Center and completed a
series of clinical and research fellowships
including pain management.
In addition to his professional
pursuits, Dr. Horn enjoys water and snow sports,
golf, fine arts, and traveling.
