Dr. Darnall is an Assistant Professor in the
Department of Anesthesiology and Peri-Operative
Medicine and a Psychologist in our Comprehensive
Pain Center (CPC).
In September 2005, she came to OHSU from the
Baltimore area where she was a post-doctoral
research fellow in the Department of Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Johns Hopkins
University School of Medicine, and a licensed
clinical psychologist. Her research involved an
examination of the prevalence of pain and depression
in persons with limb loss. Dr. Darnall completed her
doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology at the
University of Colorado in Boulder in 2002.
At the CPC, Dr. Darnall is part of a
multidisciplinary pain treatment team that 1)
evaluates pain patients for behaviors and
comorbidity which may be negatively impacting their
ability to function and cope with their pain
condition; 2) guides patients toward improved
self-management skills of long-term pain and other
chronic diseases; 3) treats depression, anxiety, and
sleep disturbance that often accompany chronic pain;
and 4) offers pre-surgical psychological
evaluations.
In her spare time, Dr. Darnall enjoys trail
running, mountain races, and exploring Portland. |
