Dr. Darnall is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Peri-Operative Medicine and a Psychologist in our Comprehensive Pain Center (CPC).

In September 2005, she came to OHSU from the Baltimore area where she was a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and a licensed clinical psychologist. Her research involved an examination of the prevalence of pain and depression in persons with limb loss. Dr. Darnall completed her doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology at the University of Colorado in Boulder in 2002.

At the CPC, Dr. Darnall is part of a multidisciplinary pain treatment team that 1) evaluates pain patients for behaviors and comorbidity which may be negatively impacting their ability to function and cope with their pain condition; 2) guides patients toward improved self-management skills of long-term pain and other chronic diseases; 3) treats depression, anxiety, and sleep disturbance that often accompany chronic pain; and 4) offers pre-surgical psychological evaluations.

In her spare time, Dr. Darnall enjoys trail running, mountain races, and exploring Portland.
