John
Hromco is Lab Manager for the Department of
Anesthesiology and Peri-Operative Medicine. He
oversees the operations of all molecular, cell
culture, behavioral and surgical laboratories on
three different campuses including the Oregon
Graduate Institute and the National Primate Center.
He is responsible for all animal acquisitions as
well as the purchase of all laboratory supplies and
equipment.
In 1989, John joined the OHSU community as an
Anesthesia Technician. After serving as Lead
Anesthesia Tech, he became a member of the Research
Division, working as a Senior Research Assistant
with Dr. Robert Shangraw on studies involving
glucose metabolism. In 2003, John was appointed Lab
Manager. He has been instrumental in developing our
research laboratories into one of the leading
research centers in the nation.
John received a Bachelor of Science from the
University of Oregon in 1988 and a Master in Public
Administration from Portland State University in
2001.
